IKKYO: In AIKIDO, the first principle of KATAME-WAZA. Ikkyo consists of immobilizing the opponent's arm. This can be achieved by grabbing one or both wrists from either in front or behind, by striking the arm with a fist or in a downward sweep, or by seizing the opponent's neck. Ikkyo is also known as ude-osae. (See also Aikido article).
